The Time-Travelling Great Grandmother

A Mysterious Pocket Watch

Anika was happiest when she got to see her granny, Granny Lakshmamma. Kind, great storyteller, and always prepared candy was her nature. One day, though, Anika came across something really marvelous.

Discovering an ancient pocket watch coated in dust, she played in the attic. It had unusual marks cut on it. Puzzled, she grabbed it. The watch started glowing and the hands twirled frantically the instant she touched it.

Granny Lakshmamma entered and screamed.

Grinning, she said: "Oh, dear! You discovered my Time Turner."

A young Indian girl and her great-grandmother in a glowing time vortex, holding a pocket watch with Telugu inscriptions, traveling through time.

Anika's sight opened completely. "Wait... what?"

Grandmother Lakshmamma laughed. I believe it's about time you would know the family secret.”

She adjusted the watch's dial. Everything around them swirled suddenly in golden glare. The attic vanished and they were elsewhere— and in another time—when the sun fell.

Anika gaped around. They were in a busy market with many individuals wearing normal clothes. Rode past on a horse came a warrior, and a street vendor provided justmade ariselu.

Granny Lakshmamma greeted warmly the year 1325.

Anika Travels Through Time

Anika couldn't believe it; her great-grandmother was a time traveler.

Granny Lakshmamma instructed Anika on time travel the rest of the day. As one, they went:

  • The Kakatiya Kingdom (1325 AD) – They observed master sculptors at work and gazed on the grand Thousand Pillar Temple.
  • Ancient Vijayanagara (1500 AD) – They investigated an industry where merchants traded spices and diamonds.
  • In the British era India (1800s) - they observed freedom fighters secretly organizing to fight for sovereignty.
  • The Future (2100 AD) – Anika saw flying cars, robots, and giant space stations.

Anika was amazed. Every place was like stepping into a storybook!

The Lesson of Time Travel

Anika inquired, "Granny, why do you travel with time?" sitting beside a quiet river in the 1800s.
Granny Lakshmamma said "to preserve history alive." “And to make us remember every moment is valuable.”
Anika grinned. She realized that life would never quite be the same once more. Not only was she no longer a regular girl; she was a time traveler's apprentice now!
And her adventures were barely starting.
